Since 2019, Chop Suey has been based in Portugal, a place where sun, salt, and soul naturally come together. An easy landscape to think, make, and slow down. Among creatives, conscious entrepreneurs, and next-gen rebels, the flow feels natural. From here we take side roads and stay open to whatever shows up.
The Sunday Notes, our bi-weekly journal, gathers these moments. Stories from the road sit alongside seasonal recipes, rare finds, and shared work from one-of-a-kind creators, wherever they’re based.
The Mottainai Warehouse is where time stacks up. A collection of conversation pieces, available for shoots and workshop retreats. Surrounded by prop-shop treasures, old-stock fabrics, and haberdashery. A place where age matters and stories are present.
In our student programs, we embrace co-creation and sharing. Guided by Shu Ha Ri: building a steady foundation, then bending the rules and making it yours.

Sharing the same philosophy, Água que Mira and Chop Suey have teamed up for a boutique re-styling project inspired by the idea of Mottainai. From one-of-a-kind finds discovered in city alleys to objects shaped by local artisans, each piece is brought together on site with care and intention.
Our background in student support programs, along with our passion for guiding individual creative journeys, comes together in personalized projects.
Set in the isolation of the Alentejo mountains and surrounded by the waters of the Santa Clara Dam, the Água que Mira project unfolds in an amazing place. Its location and distinctive character make it an ideal environment for both artistic exploration and personal development. With a strong and ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and personal health. Água que Mira serves as a meeting point for people, languages, and creative practices, within a dynamic that is constantly evolving.
In terms of accommodation, Água que Mira can host up to 24 people, distributed across shared or private cabins, two houses, and three suites.
